I could not log on to the internet so no posting yesterday. I rode 46 miles.
Today, my odometer battery is not working properly. I rode to Caheunga Pass and then up through Mullholland Blvd. today. It is a gradual 1.5 miles uphill to Rustic Canyon Park. From there all the way past Laurel Canyon Blvd., Coldwater Canyon, Bevery Glen and out to Sepulveda. I did the same ride on Sunday and my odometer was working so I know that is 16 miles. Today my odometer only had 6.3. From there to Santa Monica Blvd. and then to work.
The person who I live with that I am related to by marriage approved the purchase of 2 bicycle tires. I managed to find a pair at Marina Del Rey. During lunch I bicycled over there. Around 22 miles round trip. So far today I have biked around 48 miles. I will probably ride around 60 miles today.

Why
Not sure how to start this blog thing, but want to let people know how my cross country bicycle trip is progressing. I will meet the group on Saturday May 9th so until then most likely I will not be posting that much until that day. Right now, people are introducing themselves via email. I have learned a few things from everyone. I am not as experienced as most of the other people going and I definitely do not think I can change a tire in 4 minutes. Hopefully. not to many flats along the way.
Yesterday, I biked around 75 miles with a group of guys from Legrange. It is nice to be able to bike with other persons as 99% of the time I ride alone. A beautiful sunny day in the 80s.
Today, I biked 64 miles. About 10 miles of uphill. I felt really strong today, especially going up Topanga Canyon. The training seems to be working, but we'll see what the days bring.
