The first 3000 is the toughest

Dad- Happy Father's Day.

Yesterday there were 12 flats. None were in our group. Today we went through 3 tubes and 2 tires. We were fortunate as it did not rain much today and fixing the flats not in the rain is much more comfortable and easier.
It started out a little overcast and drizzle and we biked to the town of Geneva. Seneca Lake provided a nice view.
We also went through Waterloo which is the place where Memorial Day in the U.S. started. Although the sign below is a little crooked if you click on the picture you can read more.
We stopped at a store and someone told us about a fire truck which had the names of 343 firemen who died in the 9/11 rescue. It was a little off the route, but we thought it worth it. I had noticed another memorial at Seneca lake dedicated to 9/11/ Although I live in the U.S., not living in NY at the time of the attack, you feel somewhat detached. Riding and seeing the different memorials it is evident how much the whole state of NY was effected by the attack.
